Approximately 2,000 boys and girls attempt to qualify every year to participate in the 156 player field through Local and State Qualifying Tournaments in 37 states. If not exempt from 2011, you must attempt to qualify through your state of residence. Here are some quick facts about the Big "I" and why YOU should qualify in your state:
- Compete with fellow Champions from 37 states -72 Hole Championship with a cut after 36 holes. Low 54 boys and 27 girls and all ties will make the cut -Top 10 boys and Top 5 girls eligible by age are exempt into the 2013 Big "I" - Receive AJGA consideration: -- Winners of the 2012 Big "I" are fully exempt with the AJGA Performance Based Entry -- Top 5 Boys and Top 3 Girls earn 3 exemptions -- Top 10 Boys and Top 5 Girls earn 2 exemptions -- Top 15 Boys and Top 10 Girls earn 1 exemption - Private Housing is a available for all players - USGA/PGA Certified Rules Officials - $250 Travel Voucher is available for all exempt players - $250 Entry Fee is paid by the National Committee to all exempt players - Airport transportation is provided by the Committee for all players - On-site players lounge for meals, check emails or catch some Sports Center Highlights - Player registration gifts - Player's Banquet
